BYU Percussion Groups to Showcase New Music and Innovations at Classical Percussion Concert

Join BYU Percussion Ensemble and Tangents for an evening of new percussion music innovations

For those who enjoy the resonant rhythms and beats of percussion instruments, the Classical Percussion concert on March 12 with the BYU Percussion Ensemble and Tangents Percussion Quartet will not disappoint. The groups will present an evening of compositions that range from ragtime to contemporary experimentations.

“This exciting evening of percussion will embrace innovative and new music,” said Tangents director Darren Bastian.

The concert will include works by percussion artists Christopher Rouse, Makoto Ozone, Clif Walker and Nebojša Živković, among other composers.

Percussion Ensemble director Matt Coleman said that he hopes audiences will “enjoy this program of percussion ensemble literature.”
