This Symphony Orchestra program will include Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, and Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 2. The orchestra will open the concert with Beethoven's Overture to Egmont, in commemoration of this, the 250th anniversary year of his birth

A wide variety of percussion ensemble music selected from the canon of the 20th and 21st century percussion literature

Enjoy a peaceful and invigorating evening of French baroque chamber music by the amazing students of the BYU Baroque Ensemble. The grace and beauty of French composers such as Francois Couperin and Jean-Marie Leclair have captivated audiences for generations. Enjoy beloved works by these well-known composers, as well as fantastic baroque era compositions by female composer Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre and a celebrated swordsman, violinist, and composer of African descent, Joseph Bologne-Chevalier de Saint-Georges.

The BYU School of Music’s four auditioned choirs will present their first performance of the semester with the annual Winter Choirfest, streamed from the de Jong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center. Known for their polished performances and versatility of genre and style, the school’s four auditioned choirs—Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir and BYU Singers—will present a varied program of classical and contemporary choral works.

Our concert features "Sound Infusions” of Jazz, Latin, Opera, and English Folk Song into the Wind Band Idiom.  Dr. Jason Bergman, Professor of Trumpet at BYU, will be our featured artist in the timeless "Porgy and Bess Medley" by George Gershwin.

Varied selections by Verdi, Martin, Ravel, Elgar, Nelson, and Liszt. Featuring faculty baritone Robert Brandt as vocal soloist.

This recital will feature a diverse palette of percussion instruments and musical styles. Coleman will be joined by fellow BYU Percussion faculty member Darren Bastian, as well as bandmates Kristen Bromley and Eric Hansen, who form jazz trio Groove Axis.

BYU Singers continues to showcase its ability to perform in a variety of musical styles. From cathedral classics to Latin folk music to….ABBA, this ‘eclectic’ mix of genres is sure to entertain and inspire. BYU Singers will be joined by guest artists, Concert Choir.

The Classical Percussion concert will feature the BYU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Matt Coleman, and the Tangents Percussion Quartet, directed by Darren Bastian.

BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre in Concert presents Teleconnection: Remnants in Motion. This evening’s concert explores the pressure, friction, and impact one’s movement has within the environment and society, both immediate and distant. Come and travel with the performers as they experience, through visual storytelling and dance, what it means to belong to a species who cares amidst the chaos.

Men’s Chorus returns to the stage with their patented blend of hymns, folksongs, and spirituals—alongside works of master composers of yesteryear. You won’t want to miss an especially memorable collection of  bluegrass-inspired songs featuring special guest artists, BYU Mountain Strings.

A beloved comic opera of pirates, policemen, and paradoxes.  Young Frederick believes he is free from his apprenticeship to the pirates at the age of 21, until the terrible discovery of his leap year’s birthday throws a wrench on his designs.  Will Frederick be a slave of love or a slave of duty?  Join us for this hour-long musical video extravaganza featuring the talents of BYU’s award-winning Music-Dance-Theatre program. Music by Arthur Sullivan. Libretto by W.S. Gilbert.

Women’s Chorus will showcase music in various styles and from different eras to uplift, encourage, and comfort the listener in an effort to build faith and allow all to HEAR HIM.

The University Bands will perform a variety of wind band pieces including "Black Canyon of the Gunnison," "Amparito Roca," and "Night on Fire." With conductor Fred McInnis and graduate conductors Shaylee Croxall and Christine Wolf.

Concert Choir is pleased to present a mix of historical and contemporary choral works, including Franz Joseph Haydn’s elegant Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo, dubbed the “Little Organ Mass,” alongside beautiful selections by Johannes Brahms, Morten Lauridsen, Ola Gjeilo, and Rollo Dilworth. Also featured on the program is a poignant set of primary songs.  Concert Choir will be joined by guest artists, BYU Singers.

A young governess accepts a job at an isolated estate only to find herself believing that the malevolent spirits of two ill-fated lovers are influencing her young charges.  Featuring TMA’s ground-breaking work in the technology of the Pepper’s Ghost Effect and the innovative designs of our best theatre students, this new adaptation of the classic gothic horror story will haunt your dreams.

Conductor Donald Peterson concludes his 35-year BYU career and brings back a few of his favorite works including Armenian Dances and Lincolnshire Posy

BYU Ballet Showcase Company dancers perform classical repertoire and contemporary works. Highlighting student choreography, this diverse performance is a culmination of the mentored choreographic process in the Ballet area.
