TRIVENI

Madsen Recital Hall

March 31, 2022 @ 7:30 PM

Zakir Hussain is regarded as an international musical phenomenon. His consistently brilliant and exciting performances have not only established him as a national treasure in his home country of India but have also gained him worldwide fame and collaborations with artists as diverse as George Harrison, YoYo Ma, and the Kodo Drummers. Because his percussive playing is marked by uncanny intuition and masterful improvisational dexterity, Hussain is widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement. This performance will feature Hussain on the tabla and collaborators Jayanthi Kumaresh on veena and Kala Ramnath on violin. This event is eligible for Y-tix. Discounts available for current BYU students and employees, senior citizens, and alumni. BYU Arts will be requiring attendees Bravo! events to present proof of full vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test to gain access to the event venue. Masks worn over the mouth and nose are also required for the duration of the performance. For more information about the new public event requirements, click here.
