Syncopation Spring Concert ‘The Lyric’ Welcomes BYU Alum Aimee Nolte

Syncopation welcomes back BYU alum and special guest Aimee Nolte to perform in the jazz group’s annual spring concert

Jazz educator, singer and pianist Aimee Nolte returns to her university jazz roots at Syncopation’s annual spring concert. Since her graduation from BYU in 1998, Nolte’s music career has taken her across the jazz world as a guest artist and clinician, and today she resides and performs in the L.A. area. On April 8, Nolte will sing alongside the vocal jazz group during its concert titled “The Lyric.”

“We are so honored to host such an amazing jazz educator, singer and pianist,” said Syncopation director Hayley Kirkland. “We have had such a fun time collaborating with Aimee for this concert.”

The audience can look forward to a stunning evening filled with improvisation, solos, rhythm and harmony. As the special guest, Nolte will join Syncopation on the stage for its program full of funk, ballads, swing and samba.

“We will feature her songwriting for vocal jazz ensembles as well as hear her unique take on jazz standards,” said Kirkland.

Kirkland continued, “Syncopation has spent the entire school year preparing high-level vocal jazz arrangements for this concert . . . We have such a talented group of musicians in Syncopation and I can’t wait for them to show all their hard work!”
