Symphony Orchestra Celebrates Christmas Season, Performs Works from Beloved Composers

The concert will begin and end with pieces celebrating the Christmas season

The Symphony Orchestra — directed by Christian Smith — will close out another semester of performances and ring in the Christmas season with their Dec. 11 concert.

The programmed pieces for the concert include Bizet’s “L’Arlésienne” Suite No. 2, Wagner’s “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” and several works by Bach — Adagio from Toccata and Fugue in C Major, “Air in G” and “Wir glauben all an einen Gott,” or “Giant Fugue.”

These classic works will be bookended by Rimsky-Korsakov’s Polonaise from “Christmas Eve” and Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” to help usher in the Christmas spirit.
