‘Off the Map’ Series Concludes with ‘Air Play’ Mar. 18

The performance inspires childlike wonder through comedy, theatre and visual stunts

In the final performance of this year’s “Off the Map” season, the BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series presents “Air Play,” an innovative performance that transforms everyday objects — balloons, umbrellas, kites and even air itself — into impressive feats of visual art.

“‘Off The Map’ seeks to find unique, thought-provoking work, and this performance fits that definition exactly,” said BRAVO! Series producer Bridget Benton.

Drawing on elements of theatre, dance, clowning and air sculpture, “Air Play” is designed to delight young and old alike. Group tickets are available for a school matinee performance for ages 6 and up.

“Air Play” was conceived and created by husband-and-wife team Seth Blook and Christina Gelsone in collaboration with kinetic sculptor Daniel Wurtzel. Since 2005, the team — known as “The Acrobuffos” — has created three shows, performed in 25 countries on 6 continents and headlined for the Big Apple Circus.

“Blook and Gelsone are two tremendous innovators of theatrical performance,” said Benton. “This performance is beautiful, whimsical and not to be missed.”

Reservations for the school matinee performance can be made by calling (801) 422-5632 or emailing jonell_stoddard@byu.edu.

**Air Play contains strobe lights and latex balloons.**
