This season's celebration of the nearly 60-year history of the de Jong Concert Hall continues with performances by Hungary's greatest composers, Bartok and Kodaly. Any concert that features Bartok's famous Concerto for Orchestra is an event not to be missed.
In the season finale, the Philharmonic close the year with the piece that the orchestra played for the opening of the de Jong Concert Hall nearly 60 years ago—the majestic and heroic Brahms Symphony No. 1. A fitting bookend and tribute to the massive body of work performed in this hall over the years from ensembles within the School of Music and guest artists and ensembles.
