Join us as Darren Bastian and Jed Blodgett perform their own arrangements of works by Isaac Albéniz and Heitor Villa-Lobos. Dr. Darren Bastian is an Assistant Professor of Music at BYU, and Jed Blodgett is a BYU Alumnus completing his DMA at Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. Due to the recent university requirement, all patrons and employees are required to wear a mask while indoors at campus performance venues, regardless of vaccination status.

Join us for an enjoyable evening as BYU Faculty Composers Kevin Anthony, Christian Asplund, Steven Ricks, and Neil Thornock present new works for various instruments and media. The works explore innovative and traditional tuning systems, multimedia performance including live electronics and video, and other interesting techniques. SPLICE Ensemble is a trumpet, piano, and percussion trio focused on cultivating a canon of electroacoustic chamber music. Called a “sonic food fight” by Jazz Weekly, SPLICE Ensemble works with composers and performers on performance practice techniques for collaboration and integrating electronics into a traditional performance space.
