BYU School of Music Presents Instrumental Showcase

The concert debuts the upcoming year’s instrumental ensembles The School of Music presents their premier instrumental ensembles on Sept. 26 during the annual Instrumental Showcase concert. The concert will include the top two full orchestras: BYU Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras, as well as the top two bands: Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band directed by conductors Kory Katseanes, Christian Smith, Donald Peterson and Kirt Saville, respectively. “The program will feature exciting repertoire that will showcase talented student ensembles and bring audiences back for more,” said Wind Symphony conductor Peterson. “It’s a rollicking, fun start to the year, and a great way to discover the unique differences of these ensembles,” said Philharmonic director Katseanes. The event is surrounded by a series of other concerts that introduce the College of Fine Arts and Communications’ performance groups including Jazz Showcase, Choir Showcase and Dance in Concert.
