BYU Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus ‘Make a Joyful Noise’ in Joint Concert

Men’s Chorus will sing the suite of Welsh folk songs they prepared for their BYU Spectacular! performance

The BYU Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus will share the de Jong Concert Hall stage for an energetic performance Nov. 8-9.

“The title of the concert is ‘Make a Joyful Noise,’” said Men’s Chorus director Rosalind Hall. “The diverse program includes all kinds of music which we hope will uplift and inspire.”

The concert comes on the heels of Men’s Chorus’ participation in BYU Spectacular! and will feature the suite of Welsh folk songs that they originally prepared for the interdisciplinary Marriott Center performance.

Women’s Chorus — helmed by new director Sonja Poulter — shares Hall’s mission to bring light to the lives of their audiences.

“Our goal as a choir is to lift those that come to the concert,” said Women’s Chorus vice president Sarah Ashby. “We always want people to leave better than they came, and we hope that we can give them what they need in that moment, whether they had a hard day and need something positive in their life or are looking for some spiritual upliftment.”
