BRAVO! Series Brings Jazz Legends to BYU

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Jazz at Lincoln Orchestra and Chick Corea Come Together to Perform on March 20 For more than five decades, Chick Corea has been at the forefront of the jazz music scene. Now he is joining with The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to present BYU with a thrilling night of jazz favorites.   From his start as a pianist to his innovative endeavors in acoustic jazz and electric keyboarding, Corea has forged new pathways in jazz music. Corea has continually reinvented himself. He has performed everything from avant-garde, chamber music and symphonic works to bebop fusion and children’s songs. His extensive and prolific career has resulted in 22 Grammy Awards as well as various other accomplishments, including the BBC Lifetime Achievement Award. This March the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will bring the same caliber of excellence to BYU. “The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is one of the preeminent jazz ensembles in the world. Every musician in the ensemble is a renowned artist,” said BRAVO! series producer Bridget Benton. The orchestra, which is composed of 15 soloists, has accomplishments ranging from the Pulitzer Prize for Music to several Grammy Awards.
