The Student Composers' Showcase is a collection of performances of pieces by student composers. There will be two sessions, each with different pieces and different composers. Session 1 will be held March 30, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Maeser Building Auditorium Session 2 will be held April 12, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall

The BYU Group for Experimental Music (GEM) welcomes guest artist Douglas Ewart - a renowned performer, composer, and activist. Ewart will perform his own works and lead faculty performers and GEM in a collaborative performance that includes free improvisation and other guided structures created by Ewart and others.

In our last concert in the Harris Fine Arts Center, the Group for New Music presents an evening of works written by BYU faculty and alumni composers who taught and studied in the HFAC, including Merrill Bradshaw, David Sargent, and others.

In our first concert in the new Music Building, we continue a tradition of presenting the finest in contemporary music from around the world.

Support new work by student composers by attending this showcase of pieces from a variety of genres, performed by the composers themselves or by fellow students.

Experience the virtuosity of this award-winning chamber ensemble in BYU’s new Recital Hall. Dedicated to promoting contemporary music by Mexican and Latin American composers, the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet frequently commissions and premieres new works. In addition to their performances at international music festivals, the group is also known for their commitment to educating young woodwind players through seminars and workshops.
