Experience the virtuosity of this award-winning chamber ensemble in BYU’s new Recital Hall. Dedicated to promoting contemporary music by Mexican and Latin American composers, the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet frequently commissions and premieres new works. In addition to their performances at international music festivals, the group is also known for their commitment to educating young woodwind players through seminars and workshops.

Guest artist Lara Downes (piano) joins faculty performers Diane Reich (voice), Scott Holden (piano), and Benjamin Nichols (saxophone) as well as several BYU ensembles in a diverse opening concert to the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition 40th Anniversary Celebration. The Mivos Quartet, “one of America’s most daring and ferocious new-music ensembles” (The Chicago Reader), is devoted to performing works of contemporary composers and presenting diverse new music to international audiences.
